David's Story
After graduating from Assumption, I attended Illinois State Univ for a BS in Chemistry. I then traveled to Southern California, where I got a PhD from Caltech. I started my career at NASA-JPL in 1983, where I've worked on several projects, including the Curiosity rover which landed on Mars in Aug 2012. This year, I received the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for my role in the Radiation Assessment Detector which is now operating on Mars.

ed from college and are doing very well. My oldest son, Matthew, introduced me to a competitive robotics program for high school students called FIRST. His brother, Clayton, also participated in the program, and took his team to the Championships in 2008. Since 2003, I've served as a mentor for a team in the Burbank-Glendale area . It's a great program to give students an opportunity to see what it's like to develop a rather complex product in an engineering project team environment.
