David's Story
Life
Wow  my bio! Where to start? Hmmm. IÂll keep this short and sweet for nowÂ
Well, once I graduated from high school I entered into the music business full force, playing professionally in bars and clubs with various bands all over the Pacific Northwest. I did that for about six years before I realized that playing covers (other peoples music) sucked. I quickly became obsessed with writing my own songs and making a career out of music. However, I realized that playing original music didnÂt pay the bills (at all). So I decided to go to college and get a degree as a ÂbackupÂ.
I attended Green River Community College and began pursuing journalism as my chosen field. I was Editor of the student newspaper for a year and a half. I then changed my major to political science. I transferred to the University of Washington, where I obtained my B.A. in Political Science in 1999. I spent a few years farting around at various jobs before landing the position of Communications Director for a local non-profit organization in Olympia in Jan. 2004. I was also Associate Editor of the organizations monthly newspaper, as well as public relations liaison to the media and government officials. After helping to run a successful political campaign in 2004 (Initiative 872), I quit my position with this organization in March of 2005 to become a freelance writer. This is what I am doing today, working from home on my terms. Complete freedom  I love it!

s much more to the story than that. I was married for 5 years in the 90Âs, which ended abruptly in 1999. I was married again in September of 2004, but sadly, we are in the process of separating. I am also a recovering alcoholic. I donÂt have any kids (yet). In a way, life is beginning again for me. My fresh start as all I can rely on at this point, and IÂm very excited about the future.
Music is still my first love and primary passion. It means everything to me, and frankly, I rock! I take my music seriously, and I consider myself an artist with integrity and vision. I finance my music career with the freelance writing, which allows me to do my music on my terms, without compromise. I've got some fairly ambitious goals with my music... including state-of-the-art studio production and mastering, a radio advertising campaign, and a live performance presentation with a complete intelligent lighting show and multimedia presentation. But a lot of that is a few years down the down. Right now, I'm just in the process of converting my 3-bedroom house into a studio facility so that I can make my album.
I live in Olympia, WA with 6 cats. IÂm hoping a couple of you in particular will get in touch with me (Debbie Atwood? Are ya out there? Essie Gookins?). If you're clever, you'll DAVIDBURR figure out how to AT contact me FUZZIN and drop me a DOT note/email COM Â IÂm interested in hearing what your lives have been like as well and rekindling old ÂfriendshipsÂ.
