David's Story
After graduation in 1971, bounced between Central Ohio & Michigan every few years (degrees from Mich. State in 1975 & 80). Worked in telecommunications in Delaware, OH (1975-78) and Columbus (1980-88).
Moved to Northern Virginia in 1988 and worked in telecom and government info tech until 2007. Got a second masters degree by ...Expand for more
commuting on weekends to the University of Virginia during 2003-04, then moved to Charlottesville, VA in 2007 to work on a Ph.D. full-time at UVA. (Not the oldest grad student, but close.) Went back to work full time in 2012; been on the same project since 2014 – best one ever; winding it down now (Sept. 2021). Single, no kids.
