David's Story

Life My Spouse The year was 1968, i was working at Highland Labs. in Glendale,Cal. as a Lab.Tech. in the Fine products Dept.,producing Bio. Medical Reagents for Baxter /Travenol. Corp. A co-worker, who was an exchange student from the UK., invited me to a party in beautiful downtown Burbank,Ca. When I walked into the party my eyes met with the most Beautiful woman I had ever seen. We talked, danced, went for a walk, and I took her to the Odd House in Glendale for more dancing. She is French and at the time she spoke very little English, and I, spoke even less French. But we understood each other very well. Six months later we were married at Saint Dominic's church, in Eagle Rock,Ca. and have been together ever since.Going on 49 years now. My Pets Used to have Golden Retrievers, one at a time, but didn't have very goog luck. Seems the more inbread they are, the more problems they develope.Pancreatic cancer, digestive tract blockages. ay before they should but you don't get as attached to them. Had a cat once ,it thought it was a dog, I had to take it for walks in the evening, very cool animal. My Kids She's the best kid we ever had, Nearly Thirty years old runs her own E-mail business, doesn't ask for money very often and lives in northern California. No Grand-children yet, but i think they're working on it. My Job Mortgage Banking, some times very interesting, some times a bit mundane, I've been doing this for over 25 years and have filled every position from president to assistant manager. It all ends up at the same place , I get up and put my pants on just like every one else. This line of work has taken me to Vancouver Island, where we lived for nearly 4 years as canadian landed immigrants, back to california where i worked for Avco financial services in New Port Beach. I then moved to Manhattan Beach and went to work for Topa Thrift and Loan in Beverly Hills. I was president of a small thrift and banking concern until I got bored with the whole thing and retired.
