David's Story
After Georges Vanier, I attended the University of Toronto, graduating In 1975 from one of the first Computer Science programs. I then embarked on a career of Software Development, eventually moving into Consulting. I ended up at Microsoft Canada as a Consulting Manager, where I was transferred to Vancouver, British Columbia - I opened up the Western Canada consulting practice and developed the business.
I retired in 2000, and moved to Bowen Island, one of the Gulf Islands (although technically a Coastal Island). There, I opened up a bookstore, and started a local radio station - Artisan Radio.
I now reside in West Vancouver, where I...Expand for more
still run the radio station over the Internet. I'm in the process of liquidating my collection of vintage and antique radios and electronics - if you watched the TV show Fringe, you'll have seen several of my radios featured.
For recreation, I run. Although I was involved with cross country and track at Vanier, I only really became serious about the sport when I turned 39 (I wanted to finish a marathon by 40). Well, I did that, and 4 others, as well as numerous other races of varying distances. These days, I rarely do more than 3-4 miles, but still run pretty much every morning.
And as far as I'm concerned, the best is yet to come!
