David's Story
Life
I Have been married for 15 years with two daughters. We like to camp in a 71' VW camper. I also like to tinker an have adventures with a VW Thing. My life thus far has been great and will continue to get better. More to follow.
School
When we graduated, I was a month from my 21st birthay and I was already working. I never had the money or the grades to go to college, so I continued to work until I went into the military. I got a few classes from a couple of community colleges, but never a degree. After the Army I have been in sales. I have been successful at it and it is my experience that sales is a career that cannot effectively be taught in school. However, there are a large number of books and seminars and that are available, these and experience are my education. I study my trade rigously and strongly believe that everyone should continue to improve their craft.
Workplace
I work as an ...Expand for more
outside sales rep for a building materials distributer. I started here in 2000 as the warehouse lead and then worked in the office as an inside sales rep. For the last four years I have worked out on the road. I work with contractors, builders, and lumberyards. It is a personally and financially rewarding career.
Military
I was in C co 1/504 PIR 82nd Airborne from 1990 to 1995. It was one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I go to serve with some of the finest. I made many friends and while there, they were my brothers. Speilberg and Hanks got it right in the seen from Saving PVT. Ryan where PVT Ryan wants to to stay on the bridge with his family......
I spent 2 years in the 39th Ordinance Co. In COSCOM as a MLRS Tech. I had a tough time adjusting and became tired of it all.
After I got out, I found that the life lessons, discipline, and character I learned has helped in business.
