David's Story
After high school I went to U T for 2 years until I ran out of money. Oh, I played drums in the UT band. In 1966 I joined the Navy (ours). I survived really tough Vietnam Era duty of tours in Bermuda and then London. I played tympani (kettle drums) in a concert of the Bermuda symphony orchestra and in 1966 I married an English gal (Clare) while stationed in London.
Loaded with fresh money (a wife that worked and the VA's education award) I finished at U T. I joined the Veterans Administration in NC in 1970. After some promotions there and in Washington D C I was sent to Alaska as the Director. I was appointed as Director of the Boise. Idaho VA Regionao Office and then the Lincoln, Nebr...Expand for more
aska office.
I got a divorce in 1995 and I retired from the VA in 1997. I've been the "significant other" to a college professor at SUNY Potsdam (State University of New York) in the far north of NY. I live with her (Patricia) in Potsdam, NY. My two sons and former wife live in Boise, Idaho.
Douglas Cameron, Currie Nunnery, John Pinkston and I hung out together a lot during our senior year at ORHS. Several years ago all (but me) attended a reunion at Oak Ridge. I caught hell for missing it. So I invited them (and spouces) to come to Boise the next year. They came and we had a great time! We've had a "reunion" every few years since then. It has been a wonderful experience.
