David's Story

Life Hello everyone! It's been a long time since high school. Since then I have: *Gone to College *Dropped out of College *Gone back to College *Gotten Married *Worked in the technology field for almost 20 years *Lived in Charlotte, NC for 5 years *Welcomed my son Kyle into this crazy world *Returned to the Dayton Area *Gotten Divorced *Bought several motorcycles (Street & Dirt bikes) *Was a single father for 3 years *Gotten remarried to my wonderful wife Dana (I don't know how she puts up with me? She's an Angel!) *Obtained a Real Estate License *Quit my job as a Senior Software Engineer (the last few years were really horrible) *Have been full time in real estate since then and love it *Do some custom programming and digital marketing programs for other Real Estate Professionals *Quit Real Estate and am an Account Executive with The Berry Company. I specialize in helping businesses with their digital marketing needs. I'm also a Google Certified Adwords Re-seller. Life has been good. My son is 12 and is a band geek like I was. He plays trumpet and is starting on bass guitar now. I still play guitar, and love playing with Garage Band on my Macintosh. My wife Dana and I both ride motorcycles, but are thinking of giving them up. Too many crazy people out there on the roads. I'll probably never give up my dirt bike though. I was transferred in 1992 to Charlotte, NC for 5 years. It was fun, but great to be offered a chance to move back to the Dayton area. My parents like having a grandchild in the same state. We currently live in Preble County and have two Boxers, Winston & Holly, and they are spoiled rotten. This one time, at band camp...(you fill in the blank!) School I never thought I'd say it, but...Expand for more
I sometimes miss high school, especially when I see someone I haven't seen in years. I miss Friday night football games and marching band. I miss my first car that I got my Junior year. I miss being in The Sounds of Madison every year. I miss Thursday afternoon Jazz Band practice. Thanks to Mr. Vaughn for getting me to read the classics and finding out I enjoyed them. I miss seeing you in home room. No matter what, we always seemed to be laughing while we were learning. Thanks to Mr. Farley & Mr. Stewart for putting up with me, and making band fun. Thanks to the late Ward Zerkel. You retired just before I started band, but gave lessons and organized a Wednesday night youth band at your church that I was part of. You inspired several generations, and you are missed. I'm glad my son got to meet you. Thanks to Richard and Walt for organizing The Blues Brothers Band. That was the most fun I ever had playing bass guitar. Thanks to all the drive throughs & carry outs that sold us beer. We appreciate it! Thanks to Bernies Music & Hauer Music, I should have just signed my paychecks over to you with all the stuff I bought there while in school. Thanks to all my friends out there in cyberspace. I hope your journey has been as enjoyable and rewarding as mine has. The journey is the reward! Workplace If you've ever seen the movie 'Office Space' you know what the last few years of my life in Corporate America as a software engineer were like. I don't miss full time programming one bit. After my life as a programmer, and then working for myself for several years, I took a position with The Berry Company as an Account Executive. I love sales and marketing and actually meeting new people on a daily basis.
