David's Story
Life
I worked at the skating rink and the Union Service Station at 4th and Main Streets.
Our father (Clarence A. DeBow) was the Pharmacist for Clement's Drug Store at the corners of 6th and Main Streets. He also worked for Reed's Drug Store in the 600 block of Main Street. I worked at both drug stores.
I quit school and joined the Navy in 1947 (would have graduated in 1950 with brother Henry).
I married in 1949 and have five children Divorced after 28 years. Married and divorced after 10 years. Married January 1, 1999 and live in Northeastern Nevada at the foot of the beautiful Ruby Mountains (Spring Creek).
We have horses and ponies and are really caught up in carriage, buggy and cart driving.
We are retired and travel doing genealogy, visiting family and friends.

Workplace
I first was in the US Navy aboard the USS Boxer CV-21. After the Navy I worked for the SDG&E Co. in the automotive shop as a mechanic. I had Dave's Auto Repair in Lemon Grove. I leased Colyear Motor Sales automotive machine shop in San Diego. I worked for D&P Truck Center in San Diego. I took a service manager's job in the San Francisco Bay area with Bay Area Kenworth. I changed my occupation from automotive to insurance and went to work for Crawford & Company working out of the Oakland, CA office. I was transferred to Reno, NV and finally had my own office for them in Elko, NV, where I retired in August 1994.
