David's Story
After serving as an infantryman from March 67-March 68 in the Army in Viet Nam I graduated from San Diego State (my fourth college), and moved to Oregon in 1971. After serving a one-year stint as a Peace Corps volunteer in The Gambia, West Africa, I went to law school In Portland from '74-'77. nd where we raised three daughters. I retired from the Oregon Office of Public Defense Services on July 1, 2011, after 20 years of writing and arguing appellate briefs on behalf of imprisoned felons. In my retirement I plan to study Spanish and Italian and travel the world. I now (July 2018) have four grandchildren with another on the way. Life is good.
