Josephine's Story
Life
I attended St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic School through 4th grade then we moved to Miami when I was in the 5th grade. I attended Meadowlane Elementary, Filer Jr. High, and Hialeah Sr. High. I went to UF and graduated in 1978 with a B.S. in business. I married David Elder (who I had met on my 16th birthday) in 1976 and we moved to Orlando, Florida after graduating from UF. I went into mortgage banking and David opened his own business after a stint in Scotty's Management. He's still at it 25 years later. We went on to adopt...Expand for more
four children, 2 boys and 2 girls, ages 21 to 8, and I have been lucky enough to take care of them full-time. We were also foster parents for seven years and had a total of 27 children live with us. We recently moved to a beautiful condo (YES! with 4 children) with beautiful views of the Atlantic Ocean from every room, right on Daytona Beach, and celebrated our 31st wedding anniversary last Sept. We decided NOT to wait until we retired to live the life we want with our children before they grow up and leave! I highly recommend it!
