David's Story
Heck.. where do I start. Left Southern California in 77 to go to college in Wyoming where I was offered a scholarship. Lived in the dorms and had a blast. Finished college in 1980 after getting married in December of 79 to my wife - Cindy. Went to work in the oil & gas services industry working all over the U.S. and overseas a little bit. Had 3 kids in 6 years (oops - I mean my wife had 3 kids (lol)). Was transferred to Houston, Texas in 86 and have been here ever since. Raised our kids and are now living here in the "empty-nest". Two of my kids work with me (1 full and 1 part time) and another works in the restaurant business. My wife works in medical research. I began working in the instrumentation & controls industry in 88 and with a group of friends started our own company in 2006. wife, kids and friends, and just continuing to "learn about life". Visiting my family in California is another one of the things I enjoy the most. I'm fortunate that my work challenges the heck out of me and provides me ample opportunities to travel, meet new people, experience new cultures and work with new technology. I still love music but just dont have the time to pursue it the way I did when younger. I feel very lucky and fortunate to have had the experiences I've had. It took me a long time to realize how special my time in High School was and I wish I would have realized it then. Oh well - growing up sometimes has a way of clearing up the confusion of youth. I realized a number of years ago how special a lot of people were, I only wish I had realized it at the time and appreciated them more. OK - well - enough about me.
