David's Story
Life
After graduating a year early (ThatÂs right, I started with the Class of Â73.) I attended UC Berkeley and got a BA in Art History. Then it was on to graduate school where I received my MA in Museum Studies from John F. Kennedy University. I ended a successful career as a competitive ice skater (Pacific Coast pairs champion) to finish school. I was a cowboy for several years until I broke my elbow badly and sold my last horse. I moved to San Francisco in my senior year at Berkeley where I worked as an Art Director/Creative Director ever since leaving school. Since the dot.com crash in 2001 was forced to change industries and have been in healthcare ever since. Decided to semi-retire last year (2008) and move to the country, so bought a foreclosed property in the country in Santa Rosa and am restoring the place with my partner. College
Attended UC Berkeley and got a B.A. in Art History. Then went on to get an M.A. in Museum Studies at John F. Kennedy University. Had thoughts of working in a museum, but settled for the paycheck in the corporate world!
Workplace
Started working as a graphic designer right out of college. I've been an Art Director and Creative Director in the finance and high tech industries. It was a great career until the dot.com crash in 2001 found me laid off with no prospects. Since then I've been working in the healthcare industry. Currently enjoying "my first retirement job" with Kaiser in Santa Rosa and loving not being a manager for the first time in over 25 years!!
