Ahhh... Life after Fairview... I opted for the GED route, just to get away from Poorview administration. After that, I went to Metro State for about a year, Professional Pilot classes. Some eejits told me that my eyesight would preclude my airline career, so I tried to come up w/ something other than my first love. Did manage to solo, though. In '74, I went to Amarillo (TX - Yeah, I know! It was more of a prison sentence than a move), and earned an AAS in Radio-TV Production. Got to be a DJ there, too. (Yes, complete w/ groupies...) :-/ In '77, I moved down to Austin (YAYYY!) and completed a BS (Ain't it the truth? ;-> ) degree in Radio-TV-Film production, with a minor in Electronic Music (Sounds like the ol' Jr. High/HS organ-playing days, eh?). Worked at the Austin ABC affiliate for over a year, then headed out for Los Angeles. In LA, after much searching and rejection, I worked in Special Optical Effects, then at a world-class 24-track recording studio as an engineer for over a decade.
