David's Story

My Life/Bio: After graduating from High School, I served as a Missionary for the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in the Indianapolis Indiana Mission/State Side. After returning home from my missionary experience I then attended Brigham Young University starting my Sophmore year since I was able to get a year in before my mission. I than later obtained a degree in Political Science with a minor in Business. At the time I was attending college, I was also running my own pro audio concert touring company Mountain West Productions, Innovative Concert Systems and Wired For Sound/The Disc Jockey Company. I met my wife before my missionary experience my Freshman year at BYU in 1989. We were later married after my mission in 1992. During college (1995) I also went on a 2 month humanitarian expedition to Peru and Bolivia (South America) where we built a school on Tequila Island in Peru as a part of one of my courses at BYU 401 Advanced International Relations. It was an awesome experience. We also hiked the Inca trail to Machu Pichu and spent time in the Amazon Jungles. I have never seen bugs so big than when we were in the Jungles of the Amazon. My hut mate was Senator Reid's son of Nevada, Josh Reid who is a friend of mine so I also worked for Harry Reid in Washington D.C. in 1995 and again in the Summer of 1995 as a legistlative aid, the year I graduated from BYU. And yes I am still a Reagan Republican. They couldn't convert me even though they tried. But we did debate a great deal the times I stayed at Senator Reids Home. After college, my wife who graduated with a degree in Accounting from BYU and whom I met on a blind date while at BYU, we then built our first custom home near Utah Lake in late 1995. After running my company's in Utah, I sold one of them and decided to take a position with a consulting firm in Chicago where we moved to in 1998. Just before our move we decided to take a 2 week trip to Europe where we rented a car and drove to see all the Castles in Germany, Austria, stayed in Northern Italy for a day and the drove through Switzerland stopping where we wanted to and just enjoying the freedom and the people. It was a trip to remember. Most of our time was spent in Germany and Austria and I recommend Vienna Austria and seeing the Castles of Germany. They were amazing. After returning home, we made the corporate move to Chicago company paid and settled in Grayslake Illinois, a nothern suburb of Chicago. While working for Hewitt Associates, I also continued to run my own company Chicago Pro Sound which I started on weekends, setting up concert touring systems for events at Navy Pier's Skyline Theater, Grant Park and also at times the House of Blues. It was a busy time for our me and I wasn't always home on weekends but it was fun an...Expand for more
d filled my passion for professional sound/audio. And thanks to a supportive wife, my schedule was tolerated by her for nearly 8 years while in Chicago including all the travel as an consultant with Hewitt Associates. During those days in Chicago I had 90+ concert level speakers and 45,000 watts of amplification but now having moved back to Las Vegas in 2005, I now own over 150 speakers and 90,000 watts of power, mostly Electro Voice Xarray, QRX and Phoenix systems with some JBL Vertecs and SRX, MR speaker systems, crown amps, crests amps and QSC amps. I own Las Vegas Show Systems, Audio By Design/Custom Home Theater Systems and I enjoy sub contracting for company's like PRG that do Broadway work and AVW-TELAV, a convention, tradeshow company whom I also worked for during the last year. At this point I have been married now for 16 years. And I didn't forget to take my wife to Paris for our 10 year wedding anniversary in 2002 something we both wanted to do. So life has been busy but rewarding. My wife and I met while in college, I am sure many of you are wondering this by now. Her name is Audrey. She is from Texas and she enjoys being the Mother of 3 children as you can see from the pictures and our annual trek to the Log Ride each year. We now have 6 years of log ride pictures as a family tradition. Anyway Las Vegas has changed but it was sure nice to see those of you who attended the 20 year reunion this past week October 4, 2008. There are many of you who missed a great time. Many of you haven't changed a bit and you look as good as you did in High School. I don't know what vitamins you are taking but you are aging gracefully. Well to sum it up, I am the father of 3 children, a Show Production Project Manager for concerts/production company that I own, active politically here in Nevada with the Republican Party and enjoying life. So if any of you want to say Hi, just send me an email to davidgrossman at usa.com I had to write my email this way otherwise Classmates wouldn't include it so you know what sign to put in its place as it pertains to the email above. I would love to hear from you. Remember life is a journey so make the best of it. God Bless You all and Hopefully some of you will get in touch with me so we can get caught up on life. I would love to hear from you. And perhaps we can schedule a lunch to get caught up on where we all have been, the travels we have taken and what we plan to do in the future. Well take care fellow classmates and I will see you all soon. Be sure and take a look at the pictures I have posted. I have also been involved in professional photography over the years so you can see some great pictures of my kids due to this advanced hobby that I also use in conjunction with my pro sound businesses. Sincerely, David Grossman.
