David's Story
I didn't actually graduate with you.
We left Oak Hill for Miami in February 1966 in the middle of my Junior year. My heart was always in Oak Hill.
I joined the Air Force in late 1968 for four years and spent one of them as a radio op with the 834th Air Division at Tan Son Nhut Air Base near Saigon, Vietnam.
I lived in or near Cincinnati from 1972-1985, playing guitar in a traveling rock band for a few years, then as guitarist with the Big Joe Duskin Blues Band from 1975-1985. I eventually had a "day gig" in...Expand for more
industrial electronics sales during much of that same period.
I was hired by the U.S. Department of State as a communications officer in 1985 and had six overseas postings at U.S. Embassies in Helsinki, Finland (twice); Bissau, Guinea-Bissau; Freetown, Sierra Leone; Gaborone, Botswana and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania before retiring near Cameron, WV in the northern panhandle.
I've been an amateur radio operator since 1963, still play guitar, enjoy amateur astronomy, a good book and a good bourbon and branch water.
