Rebekah's Story

Life I am writing this for my dad because he passed away in '89. I thought it would be interesting to go ahead and put him in here in case anyone remembered him. Maybe I can fill in some blanks. Dad went to college for awhile, but never graduated. He found work in construction and met my mom on a holiday. Although she was practically engaged to someone else at the time, he knew he wanted to marry her. Eventually she realized this, too. Thay married in '75. They had four children, pretty close in age. Rob, born in '77. (dad remember's him as Robbie), Rebekah, born in '81(that's me), Bethany, born in '82, and Josh in '85. ...Expand for more
We lived in California, then Dallas, then New York, then back to Brownsville. His detereorating health brought him back near family. He was diagnosed with diabetes when he was 12 years old. He was in great shape most of his younger life, but in his 30's I watched him grow weaker, first needing the help of a cane, then a walker, then a wheelchair and then not being able to be moved at all. He passed away at home, surrounded by family and friends. I was seven years old. I still have some memories of him. He was funny, and he loved sports and games. He also loved his Savior, Jesus Christ, who he, even now, continues to serve.
