David's Story
Life
Hi there. Thanks for stopping by. I'll try to recap my life events briefly and bring it to the present. After HS I worked and quickly realized college was a must. A few night classes at Middlesex Co. College led to full time attendance then a transfer to Cook College/Rutgers as a commuter while still living on High St.in Metuchen. I did pretty well in college and picked up photography there as a hobby. Studying the environmental impact of us humans on our planet was my focus through various disciplines like anthopology, social psycology, and science courses including biology and geography. A lot of "-ologies" and library time netted a BS degree in 1976 and slapped me with the reality of trying to find a job. I did not pursue graduate study.
The employment market was very tight at the time and I was then living in Highland Park when I finally tied down a position at a prestigious insurance company based in West Trenton. Being on the road for the company took me to Long Branch in 1978 and I've lived here in Monmouth County since.
Marriage came late to me-I was 36 years old-and that lasted 16 years; we had no children. I have not remarry.
After all was settled I rented an apartment in Freehold Twp.for a few years and finally bought a house in a 55 and older community. The tax benefits were more than welcome. I'm convinced that I'm th...Expand for more
e youngest person here. At least it's quiet and secluded. I played a lot of golf through the years and my best handicap level was nine. I recently took up motorcycling just to see what it was all about-I learned quickly:It's a ton of fun and dangerous, especially in New Jersey. Now, like most of us I suppose,I am looking forward to retiring in hopefully three years. Enough work is enough. I need to exhale. I want to continue learning and travel to Europe again:I visited Ireland in 1994 and loved it as they love us, as in United States. I want to investigate retiring there. I liked having daylight at 10pm in the evening during the summertime and the people are very friendly and gracious.
So these are some of the life events I've had and daydreams I toss around while still keeping my nose to the grind stone.
I am not, at present, in a relationship with a woman as I find it particularly difficult to find the time to switch to the seeking mode what with my busy work routine.
Some of the other things I've been doing is reading American history books, always watching the History Channel, playing(loosely speaking)electric guitar and following the auto industry be it new design and technology or racing events. I love Formula 1 racing and hope to attend a race if I'm lucky.
That's it for now. Hope you enjoyed the above and say hello soon.
