I guess age has got me to thinking about my youth. Schools communities I am a member of here include St. Pius V elementary school in Buena Park, St. Gregory the Great elementary school in Whittier, and Whittier High School. I attended St. Pius V elementary School in Buena Park only for one year, in the third grade, which was the year I was baptized a Catholic. I attended St. Gregory the Great elementary school in Whittier for 4 years, in the fifth through eighth grades. While there, I was a member of Boy Scout Troop 931 and an altar server. I went to Whittier High School all four years, graduating in 1965. My first two years were in print shop classes, but for my last two years I took college prep classes. I was a member of the FBLA. The crowd I hung around with was Jim Harris, Bob Hillestad, Nils Eddy, Steve McMasters, and others. In 1966 I was drafted and trained as a radio-teletype operator.
