Retirement: From the Lake County Examiner: North Lake Superintendent to retire at year- David Kerr has decided to call it quits after a career in education that has spanned more than four decades. The North Lake School principal and North Lake School District superintendent since 2013, Kerr’s extensive career encompasses more than four decades in various teaching and administrative roles. Kerr announced his intention to retire to the North Lake School Board during its Tuesday, Nov. 12 meeting, with plans to remain in his position until the end of the current school year – his last day will be June 30. During Kerr’s seven-year tenure there have been extensive changes to North Lake’s operations. Kerr has overseen the addition of a preschool program, new athletic programs and upgraded facilities, altering school schedules to a more ag-friendly four-day school week, creation of an alternative education program, adding video classrooms in a partnership with Klamath Community College to offer college-credit courses, enhanced safety and security measures, contracting with Lake County Education Service District for select staffing, and more.
