David's Story
I graduated in 1963 from PVHS. I wasn't the greatest student but was very interested in athletics. I ran Cross Country and Track and made many friends who were on the team. One of my more vivid memories was to help the PV varsity XC team win the FIRST varsity contest in PVHS history with Coach Bill O'Rourke as coach. After graduation I attended Harbor JC then earned my BA at San Fernando Valley State College in Physical Ed. and History. That summer I married my PVHS sweetheart (Cindy Booz '64) after she had graduated from UCLA. I was drafted into the Army that winter and was trained as a computer operator but did not serve in Vietnam. After the military I returned to Californin and received my teaching credential from LA State. I taught and coached at Chadwick School in PV for two years before moving to Newhall, C...Expand for more
alifornia and teaching and coaching at Hart High School for thirty-three years. The highlight of my coaching experience was helping to coach the Boys XC Team to a California State and NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP in 1991 with two of my sons on the varsity team. Cindy and I are still married after over forty years of marriage and continue to live in the Santa Clarita Valley. Besides our two sons we also have princess Lisa who is presently attending R.I. School of Design for her masters in interior architecture. Both boys teach locally and we see them very often. We have been blessed with two grandchildren who are the love of our life....having grandchildren is an amazing exciting chapter of life!!! I'd love to reacquaint with some of the guys on the track team and catch up with them a little bit!!!
Sincerely, Dave
