Had the opportunity to live in NZ for a short time and to spend time in Antarctica including traveling to the South Pole, (standing next to it), being in Shackleton’s hut at Cape Royds and walking through the nearby Adele Penguin Rookery. . Taking a hop on an “R4D to resupply bases closer to McMurdo Sound. Setting foot on Canton Island (the intersection of the equator and the International Date Line twiice Having a midnight beer in Fiji! Flying through the Southern Alps of the South Island of N.Z. In a 1930’s De Haviland biplane to visit the Frank Joseph Glacier! Spending the winter at Big Delta Alaska (U.S. Army Test Board). Spending two nights at the foot of a glacier camped out at 80 below but able to see an Aurora light show that no money can buy.. Traveling to Canada and Australia to sell airplanes and meeting some noted aviation personalities. Having an opportunity to be on a P3 power plant test AIlison and got a chance to stay where the Indy 500 drivers, crews, and families bunked and saw the 500 mile race! These are just a few of the things that enriched my life after BHS. Last but not least I loved being The Monster of Ringwood Manor. Added one of the few pics known to exist!
