After graduating in 1982 (my gosh we're getting old), I went to Mizzou and received journalism and law degrees. After law school, I moved to Kansas City and worked for a law firm for about 3 years. I realized though that I would not be able to try cases solo very soon, so I started looking for an opening in a public defender's office to gain some trial experience. About the time I started looking around for a new job, my wife Kamila and I were married in 1992 in Lake St. Louis where my parents still live. I accepted a job in the public defender office in Rolla after my wife and I returned from our honeymoon in Hawaii. Never thought we'd end up in Rolla, but here we are. My sons Nick, 14, and Ben, 11, are Rolla born and bred. In 1997, after trying many cases for the public defender, I left and am now in private practice mainly engaged in criminal defense work. Rolla is home now and I suspect it will be for a very long time. Nick and Ben are active in sports, mainly baseball, basketball, and soccer. Kam and I enjoy golfing.
