David's Story
Life
I live in northern Virginia with my wife, Kerin, and three children, Noelle (7 years old) and Tristan (23 months old), and Suzanna (3 months old).
School
Folks looking at my bio might wonder why I have several schools listed. Because my father was in the military, my family moved around a lot and I had the "opportunity" to attend 3 high schools:
Seaside High School, Seaside, CA (1983-1985)
Thomas Dale High School, Chester, VA (1985-1986)
Rogers High School, Newport, RI (1986-1987)
I joined Classmates.com in the hopes of getting back in touch with some of my old friends from these schools who I lost touch with over the years.
College
Graduated from The George Washington University in May 1991 with a Bachelors of Accountancy degree.
Workplace
I currently serve on the majority staff of the Appropriations Committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. Specifically, I work on the Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies, handling mainly highway, highway safety, and pipeline safety...Expand for more
related issues.
Prior to joining the House Appropriations Committee staff in March 2005, I spent almost 14 years at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) on budget and policy issues relating mostly to highways and surface transportation.
While at DOT, I served as the Budget Officer of the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) for one year, was the Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary for Budget under Secretary of Transportation Norm Mineta for two years, and worked in the budget office of the Office of the Secretary of Transportation for a year and a half. I also spent eight years in the FHWA as a transportation specialist in the Office of Policy Development and as a budget analyst in the Office of Budget and Finance.
Outside of the Federal government, I started a comic book publishing company in 1997 and have published dozens of comics in various genres, such as fantasy-adventure, horror, superheroes, and science-fiction. I also wrote over a dozen issues of a fantasy-adventure comic book entitled Books fo Lore.
