David's Story
After a 20-year career in the Air Force, I am living in New Jersey again. When I retired from the Air Force in 1997, I went to law school at Indiana University School of Law. I am now a prosecutor for the State of New Jersey. I started in Medicaid Fraud, was assigned to do shooting cases in Newark and Irvington and then went back to the Gangs/Organized Crime Bureau in Whippany. I am now back in Medicaid Fraud by choice to finish out my next two years in a quieter, less-demanding work environment. hese careers, I would have told you "No." But life sometimes sends us in directions we never would have anticipated.
Jan was a nurse at an outpatient surgery center. She recently retired and now only works occasionally as a per diem nurse. We have five children. Our children live in Saigon, Vietnam (Yes, I can't believe it either); Marysville, Washington; Dayton,Ohio; Fort Myers, Florida; and Annapolis, Maryland. Jan and I now have five grandchildren.
I enjoy my job very much, but I look forward to retirement in 2014. There are so many things Jan and I want to do.
