David's Story
Life:
I graduated from Carver High School in my hometown of Columbus, Ga. in 1966. After graduation, I immediately joined the United States Air Force to avoid getting drafted into the Army. There I attended many military classes to qualify as a mechanic to repair the military C-130 and C-141 aircraft. After completing my four year military obligation, I moved to Atlanta, Ga where I worked several miscellaneous jobs [painter, welder, warehouse shipping & receiving] before obtaining the job of my dream -- as a commercial airline aircraft mechanic. My dream soon expanded further into obtaining a higher education. After several years attending college, as a professional student, as it felt because I attended college from 1970 to 2003 on & off. I finally obtained a "Master of Science Degree in Managerial Leadership" (MSML). During that time I worked for four airlines through mergers. The first being Southern Airways, then Republic Airlines, Republic West, and Northwest Airlines which merge with Delta to become Delta Airlines. Within these air...Expand for more
lines, I have worked as a mechanic, lead mechanic, radio, electronic & instrument technician, inspector, inspection manager, project manager, and as a Quality Assurance Administrator (which is a compliance Auditor).
As a QA auditor, I worked in Bangkok Thailand, Shanghai China, several locations in Canada, as well as in Japan. I have also traveled to several places in Mexico and worked in close to half of the capital cities in the United States. I experienced and saw a lot of beautiful sites and met a lot of wonderful people. In this respect, this is one of my God given blessings to be remembered.
I am now retired. Some people may not believe this, but I am burned out on travel as I do not want to do any now, although I could fly at no cost or at very low discounts. I am content to spend time with my family and friends, especially my grand children.
I attend the Black historic Pilgrim Baptist Church in St. Paul, MN. and if anyone who reads this should visit the St. Paul Mn. area, I invite you to attend our church.
