David's Story

Life After graduation from high school I went to work for Elano Corp. until November 1963 when I accepted a position at a local GM plant (Delco Moraine). I received my draft notice in January of 1965 and was swept into the Army where I served my time in Van Nuys, California. After the military (1968) I returned to Ohio and back to work for Delco Moraine. I worked there as a manufacturing supervisor in the power brakes department as well as a few other areas. I married Susan Hall in 1968 and we will celebrate our 33rd anniversary in November 2001. We have three boys, Kirk, Steven & Jason all graduates of Beavercreek High School. My wife is a teacher/aid for a childcare center and I am retired from General Motors and living in Beavercreek Workplace Started working at GM in November 1963 as an hourly employee. My service at GM was interrupted in January 1965 through January 1968 while I served in the Army. I was promoted to supervision in January 1970 in the power brake division. I worked as a manufacturing supervisor until my retirement. Retirement is great ..... you can't get laid off!
