David's Story
Life
Graduated FHS in the stellar class of '64.
Then compressed 4 years into 5 at LeTourneau University in Longview, TX, while Viet Nam heated up, and used my degree in English and History to join Naval Aviation. Flew P-3's as Anti-Submarine Mission Commander out of Hawaii all over the Western Pacific and Indian Ocean for 3 years including deployments to Thailand, the Philippines, and Okinawa and Diego Garcia during the Viet Nam festivities, then flew as Instructor Pilot in the Navy Advanced Training Command.
Completed 10-year Navy career on the USS CONSTELLATION (CV-64) in '78. Multiple commuter and corporate Captain positions until joining PeoplExpress in '84 and becoming a B-747 Instructor and Check Airman.

ry age-60 retirement in FEB 2006. Commuted from Longview, TX to Newark, NJ and Houston, TX for entire 22-year airline career. Don't ask me how. I really miss the flying, but NOT the commute. The good news is I have (standby) travel privileges worldwide.
The last 3 FHS Class of '64 reunions I was fortunate to attend have been unforgettable experiences, and those of you I've become reacquainted with have enriched my life with poignant nostalgia. Hard for me to grasp that it's been over 4 decades since those halcyon years of the early 60's, but as one frog said to the other: "Time sure is fun when you're havin flies."
Donna and I are blessed with a son and daughter, and two precious grandchildren, one of each.
