During my elementary school years and into junior high years I played spent some time playing with crafts and board games, mainly monopoly Abie Walp and Peter Broer, and risk with Bruce and Chris Kurek. I have not seen them since shortly after high school.I took monopoly pretty serious and bought my first home from my parents who divorced when I was 14. I purchased it at 14 and owned it outright when I was 19. The next few years I worked as a carpenter and purchased 2 more rental homes and was promoted to be a foreman at 21. I then purchased 3 more rental homes and bought my employers construction company and renamed it Superior Structures. Around 1977 construction was booming, at this time I sold some of the homes and with my father purchased some heavy industrial property located on W. Boundary in Perrysburg and developed it for a few years. During the summer of 1978 I met a young lady that knocked my socks off named Debbie. We started dating and while we were dating I had just gotten my private certificate and purchased a four place airplane so we went on dates to Frankenmouth for dinner or Mackinaw Island for fudge for the day. We went snow skiing many times over the next few years, white water rafting and even went sky diving together in Tecumseh Michigan.In the summer of 1980 we went on vacation to california and loved it. While we were in California we bought a forty acre gold claim. That winter we built a twin engine dredge and in the spring of 1981 we new the recession was on its way so we went to California and had the most memorable summer of our lives while dredging for gold.
