David's Story
Attended Drexel and PSU earning degrees in the physical sciences. Worked as a U.S. Bureau of Mines research scientist for 25 years, then a consultant for 7 until retiring in 2004. Had my 15-minutes of fame in the use of explosives in mining and construction. Married with two children, 3 step children, 3 additional de facto children, a bunch of their significant others, and six grandchildren. clists were considered retards. Have biked in 49 states, 25 countries, and about 490,000 miles in 51 years. Photo was taken in 2007 en route from Portland, OR to Minneapolis, where I now reside. Have authored books on blasting and bicycling. When it's too cold to bike, I cross-country ski, having started that soon after arriving in Minnesota in 1970. Or, I work on my next book. I visit Philadelphia occasionally as still have a brother Steve there (an Olney HS and Drexel graduate) and some cousins.
