I left Dayton for the first time in 1961 and moved to California, and returned To Dayton 2 years later, after a divorse I returned to California , and it has been home ever since. I have been married for 37 years,(seems like forever ar times). I am semi retired now doing computer & IT work at a Lexus dealership , waitng for the wife to retire in 2 more years. Then we will move to Tennesse
to be close to an old friends Bob & Karen Burch. We have visited them a lot , and decided it's "the Place for us"
Workplace
I started my "work" life as a auto mechanic while still going to Fairview and migrated to working in the parts dept at a Chevrolet dealership in Dayton(Ray Bryant Chevrolet). And continued to work in parts depts,in other G.M dealers as a counter man, and eventually becoming a Parts Dept Manager in Dealerships here in California. In 1986 I went work at Northrop Grumman aircraft. I was in the ...Expand for more
Assembly tooling dept, building the large tools that are used to build the aircraft,I worked with the F-20,F/A18,YF-23, Boeing 747,and worked on Airforce one, retrofits. Also worked in engineering, and tool design coordinating material, and the tooling depts.I "retired" from Northrop in 1996.Since then I have been back in the automotive world working for different dealerships here in the southbay area in one capacity or another, where ever they had/have a need. Presently at a Lexus dealer doing system adminstration & IT work keepng their computer system running. My wife, who also works in the auto industry as a business manager,at the same dealership has a few more years until retirement. We plan to move to Tennesse at that time.It seems as if I can't ever get away from Dayton because the Lexus accounting program is drom Reynolds&Reynolds, and I am in contact with them on an ongoing basis, Lifes funny isn't it....
