David's Story

Still in Maine after 30 years. Playing softball regularly, ("picnic" rules these days; no balls or strikes counted; you're up 'til you hit it fair; all ages, genders and skill levels welcome. This after taking a line drive in the knee while pitching in a men's league.) and occasionally flying multi-lined, stunt kites, a hobby I got serious about when working at Kitty Hawk Kites for a couple years back in the early 90's while doing a little carpentry on a retirement home for my folks in North Carolina. Currently working at a local children's book & toy store and part-time for a still active, aging folk music fellow, Noel Paul Stookey, with whom I did some animation and co-labored with to create a non-commercial radio station, WERU-FM. Somehow celebrating 33 years of marriage to a WHS class of '75 grad, (who is very shy and prefers to remain un-named on this internet thing, which I must respect,) and very happy in our wee little cottag...Expand for more
e overlooking Eggemoggin Reach and Deer Isle, (once the leaves fall from the branches and our winter view returns,). The epic fantasy novella is still in the works, and although rejected by some of the best publishers, I may have to illustrate and print it myself, so that I can shop it around to some of my old friends in the film business. (No I'm not the David Snyder who did the Art Direction on "Blade Runner". My feature film work was limited to being an "inbetweener" on a little known animated musical back in 1976, called "Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy and their musical adventure with the Camel with the Wrinkled Knees".) My latest work is a YouTube video entitled "Lemme Be Your Friend" with proceeds going to an animal shelter in the DC area, PetConnect Rescue, on which I did location scouting and logistics. Well, eat healthy, (local, organic and in moderation,) stay active, (as much outdoors as possible,) and especially, ENJOY LIFE !
