Life
Well,
After sitting at home with a full length cast still on my L~leg from a broken Patella and another 1/2 cast just removed from my swollen R~fractured ankle in 1974 while everyone else was walking across the graduation stand and receiving their diploma, I unceremoniously received mine from my home teacher (Drafting) Mr. Young.
High School was over...... B average, not too bad for those heady days.
I graduated, that's nice, but few fond memories like the rest of you reading this.
Oh well, time to move on...
Completed some course work at Cypress College just up the street from my home of 17+ years in Buena Park and got the urge to "see the world". Well that didn't take me too far at first and I only got so far as Palm Springs working at the aerial tramway for the next 8 months. It was a flexible working schedule though and I spent allot of time backpacking and trekking in the San Jacinto mountains and canyons (anyone remember Taquitz Canyon ? ) above P.S. Met allot of great folks I wo...Expand for more
uld meet again many years later in totally different environment.
Well, by August of the next year I had enough of the heat of the lower Colorado desert, various pseudo far eastern majii and assorted heads I met there and decided to visit a 'solid' long time buddy in N.E. Ohio, + I had some inside connections for some "free" chemistry education at Kent State University in N.E. Ohio.

Military
Served my country in the Submarine Service on USS Atlanta (SSN 712) and USS Norfolk (SSN 714) for 5+ years, most of that was during new construction at Newport shipbuilding and drydock company in Virginia. Trained as a Data Systems Tech. and had responsibilities of maintenance of the submarine computer system and all interfacing sub-systems and sensors.
Spent allot of time in the Caribbean doing submarine sound profile analysis and qualified as Navy Scuba Diver. That school was run by Navy S.E.A.L.S and I thought I was gonna die (several times) as did everyone else in our class.
