David's Story

I don't really remember much about High School. Wasn't very involved. My fault. I was good in math, but didn't really care about it. Too easy. I remember only one teacher, my 12th grade English teacher, Mrs. Naomi Mandlebaum. She was going to fail me and I would have had to go to summer school, but I had already enlisted in the Marines, so she let me pass hoping they would give me some discipline, The didn't. The irony is that I majored in English in College and graduated with Honors. "Irony can be so Ironical." Can't remember who said that. Wasn't me. The only thing I ever said was, "Nobody in their own mind thinks of themself as a bad person." This is in response to my father saying, "People are no damn good." I joined the USMC 5 days after graduation from Wylie E. Groves High School and served in Vietnam 1970-1971. I then attended Wayne State University and graduated with Honors (Cum laude) 1979 majoring in English.I then moved to Israel, married, and became a member of Kibbutz Mishmar David. I returned from Israel, Joined the Navy in 1982, sailed twice on the USS Enterprise, once on the USS Forrestal. Transferred 1991 to the USS Midway in Japan, switched to the USS Independence and retired in 1998 and moved to the Philippines, marrying again, and still live there. rael and Judah states. I don't accept any of the Bible's history up to the reigns of the Omrides. Am particularly interested in the Aramaeans, who established several city-states between 1150 and 950 BCE and whose language, Aramaic, became the Lingua Franca in Mesopatamia and the Levant for 1,000 years. Why? I find all this very fascinating as it destroys the claim of the Jews as God's chosen people. There is no archaeological basis for any of this, No Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua. The Walls of Jericho never came tumbling down because there were no walls at the time. The Reign of the Hittites, a powerful empire, who fought Egypt, Ramses II, to a draw at the Battle of Kadish, 1274 BCE, and then disappeared 100 years later, for 3,000 years until rediscovered early in the 20th Century. 3 Empires, Hittite, Assyrian, Babylonian were destroyed by a combination of factors, much of what we are seeing today. This keeps me busy, keeps me occupied as well as tending my garden, and following the Political news from Washington. I'm a big fan of FOXNEWS, Bill Hemmer, Sean Hannity, and Bill O'Reilly, but I have no strong political affiliation. I DON'T VOTE, haven't voted since 1974. Don't believe in Democracy because I don't believe in Politicians. In Music, I like Bob Dylan, pre-67, Doors, Moody Blues, Bob Seger, Beatles and Rolling Stones. Books I like Shakespeare, Donald Hamilton (Matt Helm) and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes) and in TV, NCIS, the 3 CSI's, and Documentaries on History, National Geographic and Discovery.
