David's Story
Life
I went through grade school, Katie L. Handy Junior High and then 1/2 way through my sophomore year along with the Seaford High School Class of 1966. My plans for graduating from Seaford High evaporated when Dad was transferred to the DuPont Plant in Waynesboro, Va. I finished high school at Waynesboro High and Fishburne Military School and then went to The Citadel in Charleston, SC for my college years.
After graduating from The Citadel in 1971, I entered the Air Force as a 2nd Lt and basically traveled the world - from Okinawa to Egypt over a 25 year career. I took up scuba diving in Okinawa and became a master diver before we came back to the States. I was stationed in Egypt when Sadat was assassinated in Oct 1981. Those were interesting times. etirement. Since then I've worked in the consulting business for DoD clients, both in the Dayton, OH and the Washington DC areas.
In Seaford, we lived on Nylon Blvd (515), along with Joe Quig, Randy Larrimore, Carol Dennis and John Ross. Donny Dickerson lived one street behind us. I've lost touch with all of you - and have from time to time over the years wondered where my first friends in life ended up.
In Waynesboro we lived on Hollins Road, near to Polly Grochmal, Betty & Tom Mason, Lindy Fisher, and Sharon Smith .
I'm currently working in the Washington DC area with a national consulting firm as their Director for DoD and Joint Service Programs with offices in Arlington, VA, O'Fallon, IL, Huntsville, AL and Tampa, FL.
We'll be moving to Beaufort SC in the next few years to retire. Already have a lot and a dock in the Islands of Beaufort.
