David's Story

Life Life? Well, here it goes. One wife of 23 years as of July 11, 2009. Yes, that's right I remember my anniversary - especially since we have a silver plate with the date engraved on it. One son, 25, and one daughter, 20. Two dogs - Dachshund, 14 and keeshond, 5; One fish. Had two frogs but they croaked! (ha,ha - oh I kill me). All four of us work and occasionally happen to see each other in passing. My wife and I have discovered the pleasures of leaving home for the weekend without the kids - fantastic! Not to mention a whole lot cheaper! In 2006 we achieved two of our goals... our daughter graduated high school without getting pregnant, and we saved a bundle by switching to Geico (ha) actually, we splurged and purchased a 2006 Mustang Convertible. So, needless to say, if we're not working around the house, we're cruisin'. I found happiness, and I hope all of my classmates found it too! School School carries many mixed memories for me. Although most of them are pretty harsh, they all contributed to making me who I am today. For that I'm grateful. When I think of school, I think of the friends I started to form in the last couple of years. I think of the fights by the bread store (Curt Webb - manager, and promoter). ience on Victory's football team - all 18 of us. My brief attempt at D&D. I think of the rides to school with Sandra, and how our morning chats really helped me. I will never forget the war stories from Mr. Sharp in Bible class, nor will I forget "Wild Bill" Dunlap putting himself to sleep - in class. Those were some good times. I'm happy to have lived them, happy to have survived them, glad I can enjoy the memories. College I started working on my degree while on my first deployment in 1984 through the Community Colleges of Chicago. I completed my final course in 2002 and received my Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems. Workplace I am now working as an Automated Test Engineer for the Navy's portal Navy Knowledge Online. Military Joined the Navy in March of 1983 to get away from home. Went to Great Lakes Illinois for boot camp, then on to Memphis, TN for initial training. In August, 1983, reported to my first duty station - Cecil Field, FL. Kinda defeated the purpose of joining in the first place, but allowed me to meet the future Mrs. Between the moves to Norfolk, VA, Patuxtent River, MD, Misawa, Japan, Everett, WA, and Pensacola, FL, we managed to spit out a couple of kids and get edumacated in June 2002. Retired in April, 2005.
