David's Story
Life
Hello fellow classmates,
For all of us it has been a long time since our high school days. We have all had
a chance to test life at its best and worse. I believe success is not just what we have or how much we make. Happiness comes from within the heart and this
is a gift from God if we try to be close to him.
Its funny but when I graduated from Richmond High in 1961 I had no idea what the next step in my life would be. It is a scary world out there but we
jump in and like myself have made many mistakes along the way. One thing for
sure we cant go back and do anything over. It is wise to see what we can do
today and plan for the future. Perhaps some younger person will look up to us
for advise. Young people need all the help they can get in this world of today.
I have been stuck in the Philadelphia area since 1990. My government job
took me here, but now I am about to retire and gladly move away. The weather
here doesn't allow me to run outdoors in the winter. I may be moving to Houston
Texas where it is milder. My...Expand for more
wife has relatives there so I may do it for her. I
truly miss California and may some day get to move back there. I will keep you
informed of whats happening. Sincerely,
David Strong

School
At Richmond Union High School in 1961 I was only 17 years old.
It seems I learned more after school in living life.
I took general courses and was
not to good in anything however,
I liked Art and science. I was
rather shy in those days. One thing that became a success for me was to run on the track team. The things I learned from Coach Porto
has helped me in running today
and seeking an age group record in
the 200 meters.
My sister Esther who was an
earlier graduate than me has
become very successful in teaching
music. She is in the Who's Who
book for a music composition.
