David's Story
Hi. My name is David Tveit. Richardson High School class of '79. My last name is Norwegian and sounds like 'activate', without the 'ac'. If you're reading this, then you must have sprung for the gold membership. I am not a gold member, so I wont be able to read any messages on my board, nor see who visited my profile or signed my guest book. If you want to contact me, please do a web search on my name as I learned that we cannot post any direct contact info here.

hows: Lost, Survivor, CBS Sunday Morning, 24, Fringe, The Doll House, The Daily Show. This short list belies the fact that I watch an awful lot of TV.
I work at Buchanan Visual Communications (BVC), a commercial printing company of 130 employees. I am BVC's director of process improvement, a project manager of sorts. I was responsible for my company's certification to ISO 9001, an international standard for quality management systems. My latest project is managing our FSC Chain of Custody certification program. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, an international forest conservation organization, whose logo you may have noticed on some of your junk mail and various other forest products. The FSC logo certifies that the wood fiber in the paper can be traced back through the supply chain to a responsibly-managed, FSC certified forest. The loggers, paper mills and landowners in an FSC program operate within strict environmental guidelines to ensure old growth forests and other forests of high ecological value are undisturbed. The harvesting and re-planting of trees is done in a responsible way that does not pollute air, soil or water, nor does it threaten or displace indigenous wildlife or people. So, that junk mail you get with the FSC logo printed on it is a good thing. Our certificate number is SW-COC-003215 and can be verified online at fsc.org.
Well, I have 17,000 characters remaining, so I'm going to stop here until I have more interesting stuff to report. Cheers!
