Life
Born:Jan 22 ,1954 Soundview Housing Projects."Identical twin" brother Marc.Older brother Alvin.Schools attended:PS 107, IS 131, James Monroe HS (1968 - 1972) Sports:JV Baseball, Varsity Football and "College Bound Program". College: CW Post (Long Island University) 1972 - 1976. Major Soc/ Philo. Varsity Letter Football: "Lambert Bowl National Football Champions" 1973. C.W. Post Karate Team Captain. Served in the US Military from 1976 - 1979 US Army 82nd Airborne Division "Red Beret" Paratrooper/Rapid Deployment Force - Infantry. 1979 - 1981 NYC Dept. of Transportaton. New York City Police Department. 1981 - 2001 (Detective "Senior Master" Instructor) NYC Police Academy Tactics/Weapons.I have had the great honor in training 40,000 NYPD personel. Intercated/trained with organizations from: Israel,Japan,Korea,Brazil,England,Spain, US Customs, FBI,Germany,Taiwan,India,Phillipines,Italy,Argentina etc. Prior to moving, I lived in Bronxville, NY.. I am "retired"and live in Orlando Florida.I was Director of Security for a very large world wide coporate entity. I am now organizing a consulting corporation for Law Enforcement/Military/Martial Arts/ Security and Civillian groups. The group will be called TTC: Tactical Training Concepts. More importantly, I have (4) "beautiful" children. Three girls and one boy. Please see my website DavidWashingtonkarate.com The most recent picture is me with the "Bruce Willis" hair cut.Volunteer/coach East Orange County Soccer League since 2002.Speaker: to youth/adults at Disney,schools, churches and various other locations about "never giving up".I have "mentored" two men for over the past (25) years and am very proud of them and their accmplishments.In my spare time "serve in a faith based community organization.We assist individuals in: reading reinforcement, African American studies,current events, history, computer labs,homework assistance, mentoring/tutoring, basketball, fitness,drug free classes and martial arts. The beautiful young lady is my "daughter" Natalie in her college graduation picture in 2005.The other picture is me in 1975 (with hair).The reunion in Long Island NY in 2006 was "great". I hope we can put together another one.We laughed,danced and talked all day and night.Key note:The "first week" of August every year, the Soundview Housing Project Reunion happens. This on Metcalf Ave in the Park. The time is 1pm - 3am.There are on an average 800 people that attendTime is going by so quickly.I truly enjoy getting up everday with sincere appreciation, whatever the day brings. I attended CW Post College from 1972 - 1976. I have a "twin brother" Marc, who also attended Post. My Major was Soc and minor in Philo. I recieved a Varsity Letter in football(1973 Lambert Bowl National Football Champions). I was also honored to be Captain of the C.W.Post Karate Team as well.Best friends David King, Robert Cuffey, Marc Kaufman, Peter Kang, Billy Palmer, Billy Seplow, Dick Fields, Tommy Schonzo, Ronnie Menashe. Females: Nancy Biem, Karen Wellakoff, Jodi Cravat, Hernetta Zippli, Joan Gilhooly.Looking back, this was a "magical" time and probably some of the greatest times of my life.I I am now retired and have 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy). I lived in Bronxville, NY before moving to Orlando Fl.
Military
US Army 1976 - 1979 82nd Airborne Paratrooper:Charlie Company 2 - 505 (Infantry "Red Beret") (RDF) Rapid Deployment Force. Jump School, Jungle School-Panama and Desert Operation training. Small and Heavy Weapons, Hostage Evacuation, Rapelling,Member of "2nd Brigade Karate Team". Cross trained with: 7th/5th Special Forces Groups, Rangers, Pathfinder's, Marine Corps - Recon, Canadian Paratroopers. Airborne unit provided security for President Jimmy Carter's inauguration, Washington DC 1976. I was slated for OCS(Officer's Candidate School and Special Forces, and decided to come back to the "world"). The US Army 82nd Airborne "Red Beret" (Paratrooper) Divison was crtical in my development as a man.
