David's Story
Life
For the past 11 years, I have lived in the beautiful mountains of North Carolina, near the town of Boone. I work as a free-lance writer, mostly writing about sports, and am busy working on my first book for McFarland Publishing. I also enjoy working in my basement music studio on a variety of projects. I have been married to my wife Cheryl, who is a kidney dialysis nurse from Oxnard, since 1992 and have two daughters, Charlotte (8) and Kelly (6).

ing to southern California and finally getting a job at The Los Angeles Times for a couple of years. I moved to North Carolina in 1993 and now work as a free-lance writer and am doing work on my first book.
Workplace
After college, I worked at small newspapers, writing sports and news in Lemoore, Coalinga, Shafter and Delano before moving to southern California in 1986. I spent 5 years as the sports editor at The Ojai Valley News before moving to The Los Angeles Times as a sports writer for two years. I move to North Carolina in 1993 and have worked as a sports editor at the Watauga Democrat and as a free-lance writer.
