David's Story
My story is continuing to unfold. Last year, on April 9th, 2007, I received a heart transplant. At 51 years old, I now have the heart of a 29 year old man.
I would be happy to discuss more with people. My phone number is 303-475-0757.
I live in Aurora, CO with my wife Meesh and our dog Blackie. I have an 11 year old daughter named Stephanie who lives in Florida with her mom.
I play music professionally, as well as working as a Project Manager/Senior Financial Analyst. Currently I am looking for work after losing my position due to Congestive Heart Failure.
I am so grateful to be alive, and my calling is to help people. I talk with other folks waiting for heart transplants, as only a heart transplant recipient can help them to understand what lies ahead.
My life is blessed, good and I look forward to hearing from anyone. BHHS gave me many wonderful memories and I relish those deeply.
Dave
Update: 01/09/2009
I was reflecting on some of the wild things that I participated in during High School. I must say that some of the parties at 601 N. Bedford Dr. were very "high" on the list. I remember...Expand for more
some of the people dancing, rocking, loving and just having the time of their lives. I remember some of the beautiful girls that I had such a crush on, and being too shy to ask them out on a date. Today, I am very happily married to my wonderful wife, Meesh, but those days back then still resonate for me. I miss my dear friend, Dan Schweitzer, so very much. Dan passed away 9/8/08 from Heart issues. This pains me so much, as I felt that Dan was like a brother to me.
I am so blessed that I have had an opportunity to reconnect to dear friends from the past, like Janet R., Viviane G., Pat C., Lisa C., Taavi M., Glen H. and many others. I would love to meet more dear friends. You all touched me so much. During last year's time in the hospital, I had the opportunity to really look at my life and see just how fortunate and blessed I have been. It is because of all of you, my friends at El Rodeo, at BHHS, my musical friends around the world, and at the many gigs I do today. I am living my dream. I am a musician who can play well and uplift people's moods with some tasty licks. God be with us all! Dave
