David's Story
Life
20 years US Army, retired 1983. Married, 2 children (35 years, Jan 14th, 2006). Live in log house in Baraboo, WI HAM Radio Operator, N9VHS. Have retired from RadioShack, as of 2/28/2002. Was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in September 2001, and had major surgery Oct 8, 2001, had approximately 25% of my right lung removed. The good news: the doctors got all the cancer. Am now on obligatory 1 month follow-ups with oncologist. Hey, hopefully it will keep me alive for allot of years to come. Also, anybody looking for a game of golf? d chemo in May 2003. The photo was taken about a week after my 2nd round of chemo. Was diagnosed with metasteses to liver, November 2003. Clinical Trial December 03 to January 04. Liver tumor stabilized and has remained so thru November 2004. Now am working with Women Against Lung Cancer and the University of Wisconsin Comprehensive Cancer Center for better awareness of Lung Cancer.
I am doing good and live one day at a time. I have outlived all expectations for someone with Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer, which is usually 4-6 months following staging at Stage IV. Life is good and thank God for all the people who have prayed for me.
