Danielle's Story
Life is full of twists and turns, and journeys that often haunt us. What we learn from our adventures is what guides us into the future, to repeat the mistakes we have already made until we learn our lesson, or to proceed on with our journey and onto the next quest.
Our perspective of life is uniquely our own, no two people, even identical twins have the same life experiences, and therefore how we view the world is uniquely up to us. If we accept that there can be two opposing opinions that are equally right, we can learn to understand one another and make this world a better place to be.
My life has been about becoming the person I have always been, to stop playing a character to make others happy. In the end, not only did I hurt those I cared the most about, but I also nearly ended my life when I did not conform to society's norms. I was fortunate to have some good friends and professional help in my life while I was going through some extremely difficult times. These people helped me through the process and helped me to understand the errors in my thinking. There is no such thing as society's normal, only each individual's idea of what normal is.
I am and always have been a woman, I know some of you will think I am absolutely crazy and belong in the nuthouse, and that is okay. The process I have undergone did not change my gender but simply confirmed who I h...Expand for more
ave always been. I did not have Sexual Reassignment Surgery, I had Gender Confirmation Surgery. I was simply born with a birth defect which has been corrected., I am not transgender, although many of you would disagree. It is simply a matter of perspective. Nothing more and nothing less.
The process of finding myself is an ongoing one. As soon as I make progress, life has an odd way of throwing a new challenge or hurdle into my way. The most recent and ongoing challenge I have is a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) as the result of a bicycle accident. The accident was simply a judgment error in the grade of the road, but one I will continue to pay for, for many years to come.
I was a successful Information Technology manager and even the Chief Information Officer of a firm, before my accident, now I find it challenging to read a document and remember the previous sentence. I have taken up photography as a coping skill for depression, I have met some great people, taken portraits of couples in the park, bands playing in a local bar, I have an opportunity to give tours, with a photography twist in some of the local parks should COVID ever pass.
My name is Danielle Kornitz and I am on an Expediton4Life
You can find me on the web by searching for my name or for Expedition4Life.
My goal with photography is simply to “Capture Life’s Moments” as they happen.
Thanks,
Dana
