David's Story
I got a job right after HS at Fairbanks. Got laid off after about a year, then bounced around from job to job until 1968. At that time in my life I decided to join the Army. In January '69 I entered the US Army. I was discharged in January '72. After which I got a job in May of '72 at United Industries on Henry Ave. Beloit.
I got married to a beautiful girl from Footville, WI in May of '77. Together we raised 2 beautiful children, a girl and a boy. Both are grown now and living in Janesville. I have one grandson.

celebrated 40 years of employment at Mercy Hospital Janesville. I worked at United for almost 38 years. Then, without warning, it was announced that the plant was closing and moving operations to Selmer, Tennessee. Some employees went, I chose to stay in Wisconsin. At 58 years old, without a source of income, I decided to attend Blackhawk Technical, and graduated with an associates degree in business in '04. Unable to find a job after graduation, I retired.
I am living, relatively healthy, in Footville, with my wife and dog.
