David's Story

A couple of years ago, Classmates messed up my account by merging it with someone from Palmdale, CA. It took a couple of years to get them to cancel my account, and now I'm starting over. After graduation, I joined the Army and went to language school for North Vietnamese. Then, off to Vietnam for a year. Then back to language school for Russian, followed by rotating assignments in Germany and Massachusetts. I got my MsED from USC, my MBA from Johns Hopkins, and got halfway through with my PHD in Education before I thought "Why?" I retired after 20 years, followed by 24 years as a "...Expand for more
battlefield consultant," which meant teaching US and foreign soldiers how to do their jobs in places like Iraq and Afghanistan. I got bored in 2013 and totally retired to Fredericksburg, TX. Roylene and I have three children and three grandchildren, who visit for about six weeks each summer. Since our children are grown and gone, we fill the house with foreign exchange students. For those who served in Germany, I'm also the president of the oldest Volksmarch Club in the US (formed 44 years ago) and take photographs when I see something interesting (dlroberts.zenfolio.com/f637018888).
