Daiv's Story

Life Since graduating, I earned black belts in Tae Kwon Do (2nd degree), and American Kenpo karate (5th degree.) I learned how to play guitar and keyboards. Retired from the Oregon Army National Guard after serving 25 years. I started working for the DMV in 1979, and moved to the computer help desk in 1996 (even though working for the State sucks). Before retiring in 2009 I had been the Regional Chief Steward for our Union for 12 years. I am a semi-professional photographer, and have had my work displayed at the Oregon Salon of Photography numerous times. I am working on building a photo studio so I can do more portrait work. I am always looking for a fun photo assignment. After earning my Masters in Public Policy, I started getting very active in politics. Current events have me very concerned that I am watching my country descend into full blown fascism, and I feel it my duty to make everyone possible aware of the dangers we face if we do not learn from 1930's Europe. I took up golf pretty seriously in 2009 and joined Salem Golf Club. I ...Expand for more
now am golfing in the mid to high 80's on a regular basis. I never realized how much exercise playing golf was until I checked my weight and realized that I lost almost 30 pounds after retiring. Bought my second Harley Davidson in 2005 and ride as often as time and weather permits. I am a member of the Harley Owner's Group, but find I have many political differences with the majority of them, so don't hang out with many of them. I still live in Salem with my wife, Marie (moved out 11/23/2011 and hasn't spoken to me since), my dog - Gus (died 1/13/2011), Yukon (Marie took him - after he bit/attacked me 5 times - then he turned on her and she had to have him euthanized). My current furry family member is Bastian the pit bull, I couldn't ask for a better best friend. Anyone who has any interest in connecting with me after all these years can look me up on facebook, or twitter. I also have a blog on Wordpress. My name is now DAIV SKINNER. Hope to hear from you. After all the previous rambling, anything more would seem hyperbolic. Peace / Namaste

Japanese chef set arrived today. (but I can’t make them sound like the Taylor. 😖). On the other hand I can probably can “shred” better with the instruments below. 😂
12 years ago today I said goodbye to Gus for the last time. The world lost a beautiful soul on that day. I love you Gus, and will always carry my memories of you with me as I move forward in this life! Good boy.
Siskiyou Vinyards Merlot. WTF?
