David's Story
Life
Been an interesting life!
----------------------------------------
During my senior year, my parents separated and I went to work to support my family. Helped put my brother Anthony through college.
One of my earliest jobs was working at Jamesville Penn as cafeteria staff. Those were some pretty confused people. (I was not an inmate, in case you were wondering.)
----------------------------------------------------------------
I did artwork for a while. Designing things for bars, bands, and some local specialty stores. I started working as a roadie for several bands. A roadie, for the uninitiated, does everything from moving equipment to filling in on the sound board and running lighting. Eventually, I transitioned to playing in bands. I'm willing to bet that the people in school never knew that I was a musician or a singer. The band that I was proudest of was called 'BOYZniteOUT'. It was the late 80's and we wrote and performed a lot of Van Halen/Jovi/hard rock Beatlesque type tunes. Kind of like 'Under the Gun' if you kno...Expand for more
w who they are.
------------------------------------
I did some local theater along the way, too. One show that you might have heard of was something called Rocky Horror. Anybody ever hear of it? I played Riff. Did I mention that I also do stage make-up?
-------------------------------------
Now, I'm a Building Management Specialist with the Federal Government. Go figure! We run the James M. Hanley Federal Building in downtown Syracuse. How did I get there? Beleive me, it wasn't what I'd planned.
---------------------------------------
I still have an artists heart, though, and have projects going. Currently, it's a pilot for a local situation comedy TV show called 'The Outpost'. I'm also getting back into the local music scene. Just updated all my bass gear and looking for something along the lines of Emerald City - some modern rock, some 80's hard rock.
-------------------------------------
I was hoping to finish this off with something funny to say but, you know what, whatever else happens to me - it's been fun so far.
Ciao
