David's Story
After High School, I enlisted in the Army, and spent 2 years in Vietnam, and another 7 years in the Army, in Indianapolis working with computers, while attending Purdue University at Indianapolis. During this time I was married for a short time and celebrated the birth of a son, Allen, in Saigon in 1971. After a messy divorce, and leaving the Army, I spent a few years in Indianapolis, working as a Computer Programmer, Team Leader, and Project Manager. Then I went to work for Unisys in Chicago where I met the love of my life, Sherry, and we were married in 1990. anage a support group for Asia Pacific. In 1997 I received the call to enter ministry, and was ordained in November 1999 for service of our Lord as a Pastor in the Lutheran Church in Australia. I have been serving in the suburb of St Marys, in western Sydney for the past six years. I love my life, and recognise the grace of God at work every day. Sherry and I have made Australia our home, becoming dual citizens of Australia and the United States of America. We visit our Son, Allen with his wife Linda, and our grandchildren, Kaylee (10), David (8) and Cora (6) in Indianapolis on an infrequent basis, as the situation permits. We are raising our godson, Orion, who is now four years old.
