Galena and Sunbury all of my life except for time spent away in the Military.
I lived on county rd 105 which is now called plumb rd with my grandmother and uncle till I was 12. I attended the Galena School, and went to Big Walnut High School. I moved home with my parents in 1968 to live on Alexander rd just 2 miles outside of Galena. My first job was at the Galena market where I started in 1966, at the age of 10 and worked until the age of 16.
I went to work at the LK Restaurant for Walt Borchers in 1972. I met Brenda Fay Cordle at LK in 1973, married on November 24, 1974 then quit school to work full time. We had 2 sons Christopher David and Scott Craig, later to be divorced in August 1978.
I joined the United States Army in July of 1979, and served until February 1995. I came back home from the Army in 1982 and moved in with my parents to help my mother take care of my Father. I went back to work at LK Restaurant, to be close to home in Galena.
In May 1986 I met Marlene Lavina McKenzie at the LK Restaurant and we married in August 15, 1986. We have one son Terry and I adopted her daughter Karla in 1990. We have been married 26 years. I have one brother named Steven, for the rest of the family both sides have passed away. He is the only living relative, other than a few cousins’ that live in Delaware.".
