Kenny's Story
Life
BIO..KENNY DAVIS -comedian-actor-musician-writer
There is no recipe for talent,, but if you took the polish of Jackie Gleason and the biting country charm of Will Rogers, mix with Roy ClarkÂs warmth and the energy of General Patton---you would ÃÂÃÂalmostÃÂÃÂ have KENNY DAVIS. To his audiences he is Everyman. To the entertainment industry, he is unique and special.
Kenny started his career in show business as a folk-singer in the mid-sixties. It was within this atmosphere that he developed his heightened sense of audience rapport and interplay. Kenny found that his quick wit and enthusiasm were magic ingredients that could turn any audience into a group of friends. This fact blossomed into a professional presentation of comedy, music and FUN!
Kenny sang, played guitar and banjo, and shared many of his real life zany characters with his audience. One of the zaniest characters is himself. He is a natural showman and feels more at home on stage than anywhere else. He has never had a bad review. Again and again the critics have agreed on KennyÂs unique talents and his magnetic personality. They always comment on his Âgentle, confident stage presence and his seemingly inexhaustible flow of comedy and materialÂ. More important to Kenny are the Âpersonal reviews he receives from the people that come to see him work. They have given him applause and standing ovations and much more. They gave him love...
Kenny was raised in Burbank, California and played with his group to packed houses all over Southern California for years, including a live album at JasonÃÂÃÂs which sold plenty. He made any room he worked his own and developed a continuing relationship with many fans that came back again and again. Kenny has also performed many times at Disneyland, KnottÃÂÃÂs, and Magic Mountain.
A far cry from Disneyland, Kenny became a top local favorite in Lake Tahoe, at Harrahs, and the Sahara Tahoe. Las Vegas became a second home. He was rebooked...Expand for more
for years with his group and solo at the Stardust, the Riviera, the Frontier, HarrahÃÂÃÂs and the now defunct Landmark Hotel. KennyÃÂÃÂs true second home is Dallas Texas Âwhere he was known for years as an Honorary Texas native by performing and recording his second live album at The Railhead. For over nine years he filled the 300-seat nightclub and always left them wanting more.
In 1978, thanks to Eddie Rabbitt, Kenny started a new phase of his career by becoming an opening act comedian at the Montana State Fair. Since that time he has opened in concert for many top country acts, (Larry Gatlin, Alabama, Roy Clark, and Kenny Rogers) as well as his biggest personal thrill, opening for Mr. George Burns in Concert in 1988. Since then, Kenny has headlined all over the U.S. as a Stand-Up Comedian, or a one-man corporate show entertainer.
KennyÂs relationship with Larry Gatlin and their common love of Golf turned Kenny
Davis into Kenny Bob Davis and also helped him become the ÂGolf Comic as he is now referred to in golfing circles. He has performed at or been involved in over 250 Charity and PGA Golf events since 1978. (Thank You, Larry Bob, for the second love of my career.)
1978 was also the beginning of a long and successful acting career as well. Kenny has been seen in many, many TV Commercials, series, and episodic as many different characters. His TV acting resume includes Murder She Wrote, Sisters, and his Lone Star Beer Commercial won a Clio.
Kenny has also guest-starred on many TV shows as a Comedian too. (Prime Time Country, John Davidson, Merv Griffin, and the Norm Crosby Comedy Shop) Kenny even found time in a busy schedule to do a feature film, the Steven Spielberg film, ÂGREMLINSÂ. He has co-starred in many TV Pilots including one with Phyllis Diller and Alan Hale Jr. as his older cousins!!
With over twenty-eight years of professional performing experience, Kenny is going strong in all areas including comedy writing. (TV and Film)
